Gratitude Journal

Goal # 27

“It’s important to be happy about the little you have. However little it is, it’s infinitely more than nothing.” ~King Caspar of Nubia, The Christmas Mystery by Jostein Gaarder

Progress: 5/50

I AM GRATEFUL FOR…

  1. the people who are always there for me
    • Jim — I could never find the words to express just how blessed and lucky I feel to have him in my life
    • my mom — her desire to help others without expecting anything in return is inspiring (though it makes me incredibly angry that people always take advantage of her)
    • my sister — even after a long and tiring day at work, she finds the time to watch a movie or an episode of our favorite shows with me
    • my brother — he doesn’t always show it and he never says it but I know he really cares about me and that I can always count on him
    • my dad — even though he is one of the biggest sources of disappointment in my life, I have learned so much from him
  2. the roof over my head aka a house I can (sometimes) call home — there are so many people living on the streets that I can’t find it in me to complain about failures in design or broken things around the house
  3. 3 meals a day and snacks in between aka food — even when money’s really tight, I have never had to worry about where my next meal is going to come from or how I’m going to get it. (”God will provide.”)
  4. the clothes on my back — I have never been very enthusiastic about shopping but I have to admit that there are (very rare) times when I find something that I just have to buy. And because I have family and friends who live–I mean, love to shop, someone’s always bound to give me clothes as a gift. I have clothes that I’ve worn only once or twice while there are people who can’t even afford a change of clothes. :(
  5. my laptop — though I think that with all the advancements in technology, it’s becoming obsolete and I have called it “Jurassic” more than a few times, I am glad that it’s mine and it’s the one thing people always HAVE to ask for my permission to use.
